Liposuction surgery and its cost in Nashik

The procedure where the fat, unable to get removed from diet or exercise, gets removed through surgery is called liposuction surgery. Tumescent liposuction surgery, ultrasound-assisted liposuction surgery, and Laser-assisted liposuction surgery are the three types of liposuction surgery. The most common type of liposuction surgery is Tumescent Liposuction surgery, where the fat gets sucked after the surgeon injects saline water with lidocaine and epinephrine. The blood loss and pain gets reduced with the help of this. Several clinics for liposuction are present in Nashik at Sharanpur, Tidke Colony, Panchvati and Canada Corner. As compared to the US, it is estimated that savings in India for many procedures is 65-90%. For your liposuction procedure in Nashik, you can expect to spend between ₹35,000 and ₹1,80,000.

Uses:

Rather than providing any physical health benefits, Liposuction surgery gets used to improve appearance. By adopting a healthful lifestyle, with a balanced diet, regular exercise, and a healthy sleep schedule, most people would probably achieve the same or better results. Normally, if lifestyle changes do not achieve any desired results then it is advised to undergo liposuction. Those areas of fat that are resistant to exercise and diet gets treated by it. Each fat cell increases in size and volume when an individual gains weight. The number of fat cells in isolated areas gets reduced after liposuction. Before deciding to proceed with liposuction surgery, people should discuss the pros and cons. Only after careful consideration liposuction should get carried out. In liposuction treatment, the following body areas get commonly targeted:

  • Upper arms

  • Both the thighs or outer thighs and inner thighs

  • Neckline and the area under the chin

  • Flanks

  • Hips

  • Inner knees

  • Abdomen

  • Back

  • BBL

  • Chest

The operation:

To ensure a patient’s fitness for surgery, they will undergo some health tests before the operation.

The following recommendations may get made:

  • At least two weeks before the surgery, people should stop taking their regular aspirin and anti-inflammatory drugs.
  • The intake of contraceptive pills by women may be asked to stop.
  • Patients having anaemia may be asked to take iron supplements.

A consent form will be signed by the individual undergoing the surgery. The risks, benefits, and possible alternatives to the procedure will be confirmed by this.

During the operation:

Before the procedure, a general anaesthetic may be received by the patients which can last for 1 to 4 hours. For treatments on the lower body, an epidural may be used. Around the spine, into the epidural space surrounding the dura, or fluid-filled sac the anaesthetic is injected in this case. The abdomen and legs are partially numbed by this. When liposuction is done on very small areas a local anaesthetic might be used. To ensure proper fat removal the patient might be asked to stand up during the procedure after taking local anaesthesia.

There are several liposuction techniques listed below:

Tumescent liposuction: The area that is to be suctioned below the skin is pumped with several litres of a saline solution with a local anaesthetic and a vessel constrictor. Through small suction tubes, the fat is suctioned or sucked out. This is the most favoured method of liposuction.

Dry liposuction: Before the fat is removed no fluid is injected. This is the rarely used method of liposuction. A higher risk of bruising and bleeding is there.

Ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL): The cannula is energized with ultrasound and this is also known as ultrasonic liposuction. On contact, this makes the fat melt away. The walls of the fat cells burst due to the ultrasound vibrations. Making fat easier to suction out this emulsifies, or liquifies it. The fibrous areas such as the male breast, back, and in areas where liposuction has been done before are suitable for this method. To remove the liquefied fat suction-assisted liposuction is done after ultrasonic liposuction.

Power-assisted liposuction (PAS): It is also known as powered liposuction. It allows the surgeon to pull out fat more easily by using a specialized cannula with a mechanized system that rapidly moves back and forth.

Laser-Assisted Lipolysis (LAL): It is also known as laser-guided lipo. It requires the use of tumescent fluid. The traditional liposuction method for removing fat is a more invasive and bloody procedure than LAL. Into the fat that is under the skin laser, energy and heat are delivered through a small tube is inserted through a small incision. To drain the excess fluid and blood from the body the surgeon may leave the incisions open after the surgery.

It is best indicated when the patient is up to 20% above her  ideal weight  and has localized fat that she cannot lose with diet and exercise. Regardless of having children or not, liposuction may or may not be indicated. There are cases where there is a lot of excess skin (or excessive flaccidity) and liposuction alone will not resolve, being indicated then, other associated procedures, such as mini-abdominoplasty or abdominoplasty or a lifting surgery if the region to be liposuctioned is another .

The most common regions for fat removalWhere does localized fat bother you the most?

  • Liposuction on the thighs, both on the outside and on the inside;
  • in the pubic region;
  • in the abdomen and flanks (belly and waist);
  • in the coccyx;
  • in the arms;
  • not back;
  • in the jowl. .

Limits in fat removal for liposuction

It can only be removed up to 7% by volume of body weight . That is, a person with 70 kg, can have up to 4.9 liters of aspirated fat. However, it is not the same as removing 4.9 kg of fat! Fat weighs little, but takes up a lot of space! You will notice this loss more due to the decrease in measurements than the scale! Another factor to be considered, several regions can be liposuctioned in the same surgery, but it will never exceed 7% of the volume of the aspirated supernatant.

Fat removed during surgery

Liposuction, first steps before surgery

Before undergoing any plastic surgery you should check on the website of the indian Society of Plastic Surgery if the doctor is really a Plastic Surgeon and is qualified to perform this Surgery.

At your first appointment you will talk to the doctor about your expectations and what you expect from the results. A treatment plan will be weighed, examined and proposed.

Tests required for surgery

  • Blood count
  • Coagulogram
  • Glucose
  • Urea
  • Creatinine
  • Pregnancy test
  • Chest X-ray
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • Surgical Risk.

I usually request also:

  • Protein dosage
  • Thyroid exams
  • Cholesterol Tests
  • Serology for STDs

Some doctors also request an abdominal ultrasound to perform the surgery.

What to do after the exams are performed?

With the exams in hand, you must return to your appointment to receive guidance for your liposuction surgery. You will be guided on:

  • dressings;
  • Lymphatic drainage;

In this consultation you will receive more explanations about liposuction, take the preoperative photos and sign the consent terms for the surgery (liposuction).

Patient preparations for liposuction

The night before your liposuction,   you should fast for eight hours for meat and fried foods or six hours for light diets. If your surgery is in the afternoon, this fast should begin within the same period, after breakfast.

At the hospital, you will be accommodated in a private room, where you will receive a visit from the anesthetist , who together with the Plastic Surgeon, will choose the best type of anesthesia for your case, depending on the size of the surgery. Don't forget to take the exams you did before and personal hygiene items to the hospital.

Anesthesia

Anesthesia for liposuction can be:

  • Sedation with local anesthesia
  • Epidural Anesthesia
  • Spinal Anesthesia
  • General anesthesia.

After that, the plastic surgeon , with a special pen, will mark the regions where he will perform the liposuction. It is possible that you will receive a medication called Midazolam to put under your tongue (a little unpleasant taste) and already go to the operating room sleepy or even sleeping.

Marking pen for liposuction plastic surgery

Some patients have doubts about being  menstruating and this will disrupt liposuction or any other plastic surgery. There is no such problem. The medical team will advise you on the use of a tampon before surgery.

 Details of liposuction surgery

The surgery should take between 45 minutes to three hours , depending on the amount of fat that will be removed and which regions will be operated on.

The surgery is done by small cuts (about half a centimeter ) located in areas where they can be disguised. The scar is usually of excellent quality. To ensure better healing of the skin, I use special skin protectors during surgery and silicone gel creams, such as C-Kaderm, to treat the scar.

In these incisions will be placed a solution of Adrenaline + saline. This solution is used to decrease bleeding and facilitate the removal of fat by thin cannulas, up to 5mm, most commonly 4 and 3mm wide.

Drains in the region of liposuction may be necessary , especially if fat is removed from the back of the body, as it usually accumulates fluids in that region.

You may be discharged on the same day of surgery or the next day, depending on the amount of fat removed and the regions operated on. In one week the stitches are removed.

Starting recovery from liposuction surgery

The recovery from a surgery liposuction lasts about seven to ten days. After a week you will be doing most of your tasks alone. However, I always recommend a moderate rest for two to three weeks to avoid increased edema (swelling).

Lymphatic drainage, starting recovery from plastic surgery

After the third and fifth day of surgery, you must begin lymphatic drainage sessions . I always recommend an average of twenty sessions to my patients (between 10 to 30 sessions). The lymphatic drainage and favors a faster recovery, relieving swelling and pain, prevent the formation of local fibrosis.

Watch the video on lymphatic drainage:

In case of pain, patients will use common analgesics , prescribed in appropriate doses and anti-inflammatory. The postoperative period of liposuction surgery is not painful, if treated properly. We have in our apparatus several medications such as dipyrone, nimesulide, ketocoralac and codeine to properly treat any pain. Antibiotics will only be used during surgery, and there is no need for ointments with antibiotics or oral pills if your surgery was correctly performed and without contamination.

 Guidelines for thrombosis prevention

  • Always wear thrombosis prevention socks (3/4 socks, white) for seven days (all patients);
  • Use the compressor during surgery and until the patient walks (some patients);
  • I encourage patients to walk on the same day after surgery (all patients);
  • Hydrate yourself with at least two liters of water per day, in addition to juices.
  • Anti thrombus compressor used for liposuction surgery
  • Anti thrombus compressor used for liposuction surgery
  • The anti thrombus sock should be used for seven days after liposuction surgery
  • The anti thrombus sock should be used for seven days after liposuction surgery

Back to the gym! When? Like?

Returning to the gym can be done in three weeks , starting with light activities, such as walking on the treadmill. Unrestricted return, in the case of liposuction, occurs in about seven weeks.

The importance of the brace after  surgery

It is important to emphasize the need for compression straps in the first two months. I always recommend that in the first month these straps are used for 24 hours. In the second month it can be used for 12 hours.

In about a month, the body begins to show results , the final result will only be seen in four to six months, which is when all fluid retention has been eliminated and the skin has already accommodated.

Maintaining liposuction

Liposuction recovery brace

It is worth mentioning that patients who undergo surgery must maintain adequate lifestyle habits , with a balanced diet and routine physical activities. The place where the liposuction was done can again put on weight, as in other regions of the body where liposuction was not performed.

The risks of liposuction surgery

Every plastic surgery has risks. These risks can be minimized if you perform the requested tests, the surgical risk and operate in a hospital with ICU with a qualified medical team.

The risks in liposuction, although they do not happen very often:

  • Bleeding, infections, venous thrombosis and pulmonary thromboembolism;
  • Seromas (accumulation of liquids that may need punctures);
  • Poor healing with depressed or high scars or dark or light scars;
  • Flabby and rough skin;
  • Dissatisfaction with the results;
